News! 🗞️

✷ Hello there! ❀

It's been a while since I've given you any news, and I apologize for that.

I hope you are doing well as spring comes to an end and that the heatwave we just experienced in Europe wasn't too harsh for you.

I'm back with fresh news (pun intended!), including the date and location of my next market! I have the pleasure of being among the artists selected for GROS DRAMAA, which will take place at Magmaa (Nantes) on June 6th & 7th! ✦

I haven't done many markets in recent years, and for good reason: I didn't really identify with my booth or the products I was offering anymore (beyond a desire for professional introspection and growth in my art practice). Some prints made in 2022 no longer really match my style or what I want to highlight in my art and work. So, I rethought my booth and created quite a few new pieces ("quite a few," especially considering I didn't manage to release anything I was proud enough of throughout the year 2025!). You've already seen a few of them in my previous post; let's look at the new ones together!

𓅓 THE OWL LOG

One of the works created in 2025, precisely, which I was relatively satisfied with. Looking back, I find it quite neat (🤓), and I decided to offer it at my booth!

I nailed a hook on the back so it can be displayed like a frame 🖼️

𓃔 SHEEP

This spring, I had a lot of fun painting with acryla-gouache. I really liked the rendering of this photographic study, so I decided to make it an A5 format, and I must admit I'm delighted with the result! ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و

The atmosphere and rendering of this painting perfectly match the artistic direction I would like to take for a whole part of my universe. A more raw, spontaneous part, where the unexpected has its place, also more textured and less polished than what I sometimes do with digital work. The supplier I order my cards from allows for customizing the back, and I really enjoyed designing this product in two distinct but complementary sides!

You can write on the back, to send it as a postcard for example! 🀦

⏾ NOCHA

A new glittery sticker! Based on one of my old illustrations that I love very much, I have adapted NOCHA into a kirakira sticker (きらきら - brilliant, sparkling in Japanese)

𓇢𓆸 SEEDS

To sow the seeds of resistance everywhere!

❀ THOUGHT

Also originating from one of my older illustrations, which has a very special meaning for me, I wanted to be able to share it with you in sticker format. And still with glitter. Because you can need peace and quiet while still shining.

𐦂𖨆𐀪𖠋 THE HORDE

-

While writing the article, I notice that an insect (a green tiger beetle?) has joined the crew!

So, this one is the work I'm most proud of in this new batch 👉👈

I was talking earlier about my acryla-gouache period this spring, and this work is the little sister of the sheep painting. I had initially made a sketch on iPad to get the general idea. I then wanted to create it traditionally, using acryla-gouache. But the more I progressed on the painting, the more something bothered me. I was losing the spontaneity and texture of the iPad sketch (which is usually the opposite!). I continued anyway, but I was forced to observe that I didn't like the traditional rendering. So I went back to the digital sketch and worked on it as I would have with my gouache, applying paint in successive layers without using the eraser tool. And I loved the result! I like the messages and meanings this painting can inspire, I like the colors, I like the atmosphere, I like the composition, I like the mood I was in when I spent hours on it... Yes, I truly believe it is, for now, my favorite work of everything I've created in my career (just that!)

☀︎ OH, COME BACK

I already introduced it to you during the last batch, and THANK YOU for your feedback (!), here is a new firing of suncatchers, this time MUCH larger!

On the left, the first suncatcher, on the right the second batch (!!)

I'm curious to see the reception it will receive this weekend at the Nantes market! In any case, I like it a lot. I am very happy to see rainbows appearing in my home, and I also love watching it when the rain runs down the windowpanes!

And that's it for this overview of the new items that will be displayed at my booth and from now on in my catalog (subject to availability, hehe). I can say I'm proud of myself for having managed to create new pieces after such an art-block lasting more than a year. I am happy with what I've achieved, and I'm already looking forward to thinking about new works!

OH yes, also, what allowed me to unblock was accepting that I have different styles and that each one has its place in my practice and my art. For a long time, I wanted and tried to lock myself into a specific style, to have a signature, to be recognizable and stand out from the myriad of super talented artists we have in France. But in the end, I realized that stubbornly sticking to one style was stifling and blocking my creativity. I forbade myself from certain practices simply because I felt they didn't fit into my creative direction. I started practicing for my own pleasure first (watercolor, gouache, colored pencils, acryla-gouache, pastels, acrylics...), and then by trying things, I started to notice what I liked and what I did quite often without necessarily realizing it. The colors chosen instinctively, the palettes, the shapes, the patterns... And I allowed all that to infuse the art that I showed in the light of day. This blend pushed me into a new creative arc, and I must admit it's a treat. And it's funny, I feel like it's by accepting that I have several styles that my recognizable style is developing the most.

Now, I accept being like a kind of small stationery shop. People like the general atmosphere, and you can find different styles, which is actually what makes this stationery interesting. That is what I want to develop for Latipule in the future: a varied and diverse shop, just like I am, just like Virginie (or Ginny) is.

Well, I didn't think I would head into a somewhat philosophical and introspective text, but listen, I let my fingers wander on the keyboard and my brain wander, and this is what came out of it. I hope you enjoyed this little tour of the inventory and this reflection.

I wish you a beautiful day and a sweet first week of June.

I'll say see you very soon,

Latipule 𓅪
